Suspension tower is used where the angle of deviation of the TL route is 0-2 degrees. Here the conductor is simply suspended on the insulators.
where as tension towers (B,C,D type) are used where angle of deviationof the TL route vary from 2-60 degrees.Strain type insulators are usedc in this case.
