How to calculate % Impedence?..

Answer / salahudeen

itis the ratio of for a given supply voltage the full load
current flowing though the secondary wdg when secondary is
short circuited.

EXAMPLE Given 100v the current is 5 A then 100/5=20

then pERcent=0.02

why this value?

it ios a crucial factor determining the current carrying
capacity of the protection/switch gear of the transformer
N/w

ie suppose rated current is 7 A then switvh gear capacity
=7+0.02(7)=7.15 A

How to calculate % Impedence?..

Answer / somnath sharma

I think there is no difference in percentage impedance and p.u impedance except the basic one that is % impedance in calculated in per 100 while the p.u is calculated in per unit.
So if u simply multiply the value of p.u impedance with the 100, u will % impedance. I hope u must be knowing how to calculate p.u.
