Answer / m u shetty
First we should know whether CT /PT is used for measurement
purpose or for protection ,primary currentand voltage
After getting the above details ,we can decide the
specification of CT/PT like accuracy
class,ratio,burden,type etc

Its Basically the requirement of the client.
ie. The client operationg load along with consideration for
future loads. This gives you the power, now for the Volatge
& current we have to do a bit survey regarding which
voltage level is available in the vicinity & the availibity
of the same from the electricity board. This gives us the
Volatge rating & current is now calculated.
Now we have to see what protection are required & depending
on that we select the no of cores in both The CTS & PTS.

Sir we have 12.5 MVA(110/11KV) transformer (Y-Y) connected, which tripped showing earth fault, when we charged transformer it stood OK ,but on connecting 11 KV feeders it tripped showing earth fault.our service engineers found that the B phase and R phase phase connecting to neutral broken from HV OLTC(on load tap changer),and R phase and Neutral is ok.Dissolved gas analysis shows that accetline content is high, tan delta value is 12.My dout is it is an internal fault of transformer, why REF or diffrential relay is not acted?
