Difference between slump test and compaction factor
Slump test are adopt in ordinary concrete. it gives
satisfactory result for concrete mix medium to high
workability. It however does not give correct information
of low workability.
Compaction factor is done to gives proper result of low
workability. In this test concrete is measured in terms of
internal energy required to compact concrete thoroughly. It
is done two conical cubes.

In the present situation of ban on mining sand from rivers,can we go for formation of earth dam filters viz;Horizantal sand blanket,inclined chimney and filters under rivetment with crushed rock sand of 6mm down size.If so what are the specifications and is there any codal provision for its authentication?
