(Ly/Lx) ratio is grater then two the slabs are called one
way slabs. in most of the times these slabs are rectangular.
(Ly/Lx) ratio is less then two the slabs are called two way
slabs. in most of the times these slabs are square.

L/B value is = more than 2 then these slab is Called as one way slab. in this slab the main Reinforcement will be providing in one direction.
L/B value is = Less than 2 then these slab is Called as two way slab. in this slab the main Reinforcement will be providing in both directions.

any slab which is supported on lesser than four sides will be called one way slab. But if the slab is supported on four sides then we have to consider the aspect ration (Lx/Ly).If the aspect ratio is more than 0.5 then it is one way otherwise two way slab.
one way examples are,
stair slabs
cantilever slabs
retaining walls etc

A doubly reinforced concrete beam is 25 cm wide and 50cm deep to the centre of tension reinforcement. The centre of compression is steel is 5cm from the compression edge. The areas of the compression and the tension steel are 10.16cm2 and 12.56 cm2 if m=18 and the bending moment at the section is 7,000,000 N-cm. Calculate the stress in concrete and steel.
