BRIEFELY EXPLAIN MEGGAR PRINCIPLE..

Answer / khalidshaikh

1.MEGGER WORKS ON THE PRINCIPLE OF OHM;S LAW.
2.FIRST OF ALL IT GENERATES HIGH VOLTAGE THROUGH ITS
GENERATOR OR DC/AC CONVERTOR AND VOLTAGE MULTIPLIER.
3. MORE THE VOLTAGE GENRATED BY GENERATOR MORE ACCURATE THE
RESULTS.
4.IT CALCULATE THE INSULATION RESISTANCE OF THE CIRCUIT
UNDER TEST BY SUPPLYING HIGH VOLTAGE ON THE ENDS.
5. WHEN THE CIRCUIT HAS HIGH INTERNAL RESISTANCE MORE
VOLTAGE DROP AND LESS CURRENT FLOWS AND VICE VERSA.
IT SUPPLIES THE VOLTAGE AT THE RATINGS OF 1 KV, 2 KV, 5 KV
10 KV , 20 KV AND SO ON.
MORE THE VOLTAGE RATING MEGGER WILL BE ABLE TO MEASURE
MILLIONS OF MEGA OHMS AND UP TO INFINITY LEVEL.
