For Designing the APFC we have to know the desire power factor of system and present power factor value.
After that we have to draw power triangle where kw value will be same. Form power triangle we can find the extra kVAR requirement to achieve the desire power factor.
That extra kVAR will be supply by capacitor bank. Then we have to fine out the capacitance value which will supply the extra kVAR.

-----------means a source which can supply a constant voltage to aload irrespective of the valu of load resistance.
