a cascade controller means there is a 2 controller with its
primary controller's output, is the setpoint of the
secondary controller, where the desired controls takes
place.

A cascade control system is a multiple-loop system where the primary variable is controlled by adjusting the setpoint of a related secondary variable controller. The secondary variable then affects the primary variable through the process.

# The cascade control is a control strategy used to have
more stabilization in the control loop.
# Actually we don't need to wait till we have an error in
Pv to start the corrective action, the secondary controller
start responding for any small load disturbance, so we have
more predictable response and more stabilized loop.
# For the loop structure, we have the primary control loop
(master controller) give its o/p to the set point port of
the secondary control loop (slave controller) & the o/p of
secondary controller is connected with the final control
element.
# A good example for cascade is: any process with
controller and the final control element is a "valve with
positioner", here we have the secondary contoller is the
positioner itself which has a secondary closed loop with
the valve.

Casecade loop is used where the one variable is affected by
other variable and also for slow process.this is series
arrangement of two or more loops in wich the output of one
controller becomes the setpoint of secondray controller for
correcting the manipulated variable.

it predict the changes in the controller before they occur
and makes neccessary corrections before only.
