the surace of the insulating material.

In technical design of electrical equipments like CT, PT,
Circuit Breakers etc. the height of support insulator used
in it, to give enough ground clearance is of most
importance. However, this height is not absolute vertical
but it is measured following the curves of the insulator
with the help of cello-tape.
