1) Generally for concreting under water we use concrete of
grade M20 or above and use plasticizers which reduce the
setting time and most imptly concrete shud not be released
from a height above 1 to 1.5 meter.
4) In one way slab, reinforcement is designed in such a way
that load is taken only by main steel and the purpose of
distributed steel is only to keep mail steel in position.
Whereas in two way slab, steel design is made suchthat load
is distributed over sntire reinforcement.
5) %age of steel by area in RCC beams and columns must
be < 4% and exact % depends on design of the structure.

above is used in RCC
Ans2. I think camber which are provided in Road are three
type
1. Parabolic
2. Straight line
3. Combination of parabolic and straight
4.
Ans3. The short columns are fail by only crushing where as
long column fails by buckling action.
Ans4. One way slab & two way slab are design according to
their need. One way slab are used when ratio of length of
the room to its width is greater than 2. such slad are
designed to span along width of the room. Main
reinforcement along width of room and carried load and
distributions are right angled to main reinforcement.
In two way slab is used where length of room to
breadth is less than 2 . in this case reinforcement are
provided in both length and breadth of room.
Ans5. in the case of building % steel in the base of rcc
are used in following manner
1. footing – 6%
2. beam- 1 %
3. column – 1.2%
4. lintel- .6%
5. slab- .8%
6. staircase- .8%

1.For mass concreteing PPC cement is perfered because Heat
of hydration of PPC is vry less compare to OPC, to avoid
thermal cracks.
