Answer / riyadh
this formula u going to apply
Kw=Kva*P.f
we know P.f = 0.9 for T/f's
P.f = 0.8 for Generator
we knw power kw 40Mw
Apply to above formula Kva = kw / p.f
Kva = 40000 Kw / 0.8
Kva = 50000 kva
In Mva is 50

Answer / jayaraj
The question is wrong. 40MW load could not be fed from 220v 3 ph system. If the question is the KVA requirement 50000KVA on .8 pf. So in a distribution system 2000KVA Transformer 25 nos are required.

THE ABOVE FORMLA APPLIES FOR CONVERSION OF HP INTO KVA AND
THE CORRECT CONVERSION FACTOR IS 0.764.
THE REQUIREMENTS OF 40 HP CONNECTION CONVERTED INTO KVA
APPLYING THE FORMULA IE 1 HP = 0.764 KVA IS 40HP/0.764 IS
APPROXIMATELY IS 52 KVA.
HENCE UR CORRECT REPLY IS SOLICITED FOR ARRIVING AT THE KVA
DEMAND FOR THE ESTIMATED 40 MW OF POWER CONNECTION
