what is the differents and advantages of Electro magnetics relay and static relay ? what is the nu..

Answer / pramod kumar

Electro magnetic relays r 1st generation relays they use
principle of elecro magnetic principle.they depend apon
gravitation also and the value changes to the surrounding
magnetic fields also.

static relays r 2nd generation relays. In this relays
transistors and IC's r been used. there value may vary wrt
temperature also.

numerical relays are present generation relays. They use
Microprocessor. with in built software and predefined values
if any values extend the predefined values then relay gets on.
by this relay we can find distance of fault also.

ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAYS WORKS UNDER THE PRINCIPLE OF
ELECTROMOTIVE FORCE.IT USES MAGNETIC CORE AND PLUNGER FOR
THE SENSING AND ACTIVATION OF THE CIRCUIT.
WHERE AS STATIC RELAY COMPRISES OF ELECTRONOC CIRCITARY AND
USES LOGIC FOR THE SENSING AND ACTIVATION OF THE CIRCUIT.
ADVANTAGES-STSTIC RELAYS ARE LIGHT WEIGHT , RELIABLE AND
THE RESPONSE IS FASTER THAN THE ELECTROMAGNEIC RELAYS.

Answer / gova

Hi

1)static Relay burden is less than Electromagntic type of
relays.Hence error is less.
2)lesser weight
3)Relay overshoot is less

what is the differents and advantages of Electro magnetics relay and static relay ? what is the nu..

Answer / m.k.bhatnagar

Static relays are low burden, more accurate, low weight, easy testing & having higher range of setting than EM relays. Cost is more than EM relay.

Numerical relays are micro processor based relays and having the features of recording of parameter used as disturbance recorder flexibility of setting & alarms & can be used one relay for all type of protections of one equipment hence less area is required. Wide Range of setting, more accurate, Low burden hence low VA of CT is required which minimize the cost.

what is the differents and advantages of Electro magnetics relay and static relay ? what is the nu..

Answer / ud

1) static relay is stationary relay while em relay is movable.
2) power consumption in case of static relay is usully lower than em relay.
