what will be happen if we apply D.C supply to the transformer..

Answer / monalisa jena

If the primary of a transformer is connected to a d.c
supply,the primary will draw a steady current,hence
prodocue constant flux.consequently no back emf ll be
produced. The primary ll draw excessive current due to flow
of low resistance of the primary. The result is that the
primary eill overheat and burn out the transformer.

Answer / kishore

WHEN YOU APPLY AC SUPPLY TO TRANSFORMER AS IT FLOW
ALTERNATIVELY UP N DOWN LIKE JUMPING HENCE IT WILL JUMP
FROM PRIMARY WINDING TO SECONDARY WINDING BUT IN CASE OF DC
SUPPLY AS IT GOES IN A STRAIGHT LINE IT BANG WITH PRIMARY
WINDING LIKE A HEADON COLLISION AND BREAK IT ........
