Answer / subbarayalu
some of the advantages of AC over DC are
1) it can be stepped up or stepped down in voltage
2) it can be transported to longer distances
3) it can have least loss power loss due to heating.
4) it is easier and cheaper to produce
5) it is economical to trasport. etc.,
6) it is easy to design equipment
7) size of the AC machine will be small

The main advantage of AC over DC is that it can be easily
steeped up or stepped down using static
machines(Transformer). The power can either be increased to
extra high voltage for long transmission or stepped down to
the safe voltage for consumer use.
Except these there are several advantages of AC power

I'm generating a pulse of 3V with frequency 80Hz (12.5ms time period) and pulse duration 0.125ms and feeding it to a transformer since i want the pulse to get amplified around 60V. At the output amplification s happening but the pulse is changed to a spike, can you tell me what could be the reason? (an ordinary transformer 220V-12V stepdown transformer is reverse connected ie. now it is 12V-220V stepup and voltage amplification happens)
