Marketing myopia stands for short sightedness in the sense
that company is just following the conventional method of
its strategies instead of contemporary strategies of marketing.
For ex. pager co. never thought that mobile co. will take
over their business, but as the economical and demographical
trends in India changed, pager co. started diminishing from
the market.
As Mr. Jack Welch former C.E.O of General Electric said ,
"change or die"

if the organization dont understand their needs and offer
the product or service in the market it will be rejected by
the customers because the product or service is not

pupose in the term of its funtion from the customers point
of time. for example railways companies that define thier
markets in term of train, rather than transpotation, fail
to regognis the challenges of cometion from cars,
airlines , bus etc....
there for it is necessary to define the need of the
customer in more genral term rather than product specific
terms.
