Why in DC drive u r using in Klin operation in Cement Plant?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / ashok kumar
in DC motor speed control is very easy and for kiln
operation it required high starting torque , so we go for
dc motor but at the present scenerio we go for Ac motor
because initial cost of dc motor is very high and its
maintenance cost is also high.

Hi
Kiln need high starting torque, and DC motor have capability
to produce high torque for kiln rotation
Also dc drive have speed accuracy, we can increse/decrese
speed upto 0.1 v dc

dc drive is used for the following reasons
1 we need high torque.
2.we require speed.
3.ac can be used ,but there r some problems(due to high
cost)
4.cost of ac is more as rms is continues.
