The Alternators are generally designed for 0.8 PF.Suppose
if the load power factor is less than 0.8.then PF for
compensation we can add Capacitors. But suppose if the DG
is operated at 0.8 PF with full load then the addition of
Capacitors will of course reduce the load on Alternator but
increase the load on Diesel Engine. So we must take atmost
care. Addition of Capacitors above the designed will reduce
the Load on Alternator but increase the load on Diesel
engine

YES,CAPACITORS ARE FOR IMPROVING THE RATIO BETWEEN KWH AND
KVA.SO WE CAN LOAD POWER CAPACITORS ON DG SETS.
