The network which consists of the elements whose V-I char.
curve is linear and does not depends on the direction of
current is called linear bilateral network.
Eg:resistive network.

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / anjan

A linear circuit is one which obeys the law of superposition
i.e. Let for the input e1 if the output is o1 and for the
input e2 if the output is o2 then for the input e1+e2 the
output has to be o1+o2

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / ravi jindal

It is a circuit that behaves the same way if it is connected in the opposite direction. The term is typically used for components in electrical circuits. For example, a resistor behaves the same way no matter if it's connected left-to-right ot right-to-left. In contrast, a diode is not a bilateral component, because it conducts current in one direction, and does not conduct in the other.

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / natesh bmrcl

A bilateral network element can conduct current equally well in either directions. That means, it will have, same voltage – current flow. Suppose a resistor, if you connect the resistor, with a network, the conductivity will be the same irrespective of its direction of connection. As the resistor can conduct current equally well in either direction of current flow, it can be considered as a good example of bilateral element. Inductor is another well known example of bilateral element.

But, if we think about, diode, transistor, thyristors etc. we will see that type of network elements, cannot conduct current equally well, in either direction. Such as diode which conducts current in forward direction where – as it blocks current in backward direction. Hence diode can be considered as unilateral element of electrical network.

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / shivani

linear network is directional network;means all parameter
depends on direction
Bilateral means non-directional. it 's parameter doesn't
depends on direction.

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / om

linear networks are those in which parameter does not
change due to change in direction....
Bilateral networks in which ratio of the response
variable to excitation variable does not change if we
interchange the position of response and excitation in the
circuit...

What do you mean by linear and bilateral network?..

Answer / kiranmai

bilateral network:A network or circuit in which the mgnitude
of the current remains the same whwn the voltage polarity is
reversed.

linear network: Anetwork in which the parameters of
resistance, inductance and capacitance are constant with
respect to current or voltage and in which the voltage or
current of souurces is independent of or directly
proportional to other voltages and currents or their
derivatives in the network

Please help me regarding my one concern. - During earth pit testing we noticed that the Clean earth pit and dirty earth pit showing continuity (Resistance value - 5ohm) . I want to know that if both earth pit have separate location and there is not internal looping between PIT then why such continuity is showing on it . Because of this issue the field side all earthing point showing short. In PLC panel we are providing two types of earthing cable which is coming from separate earth pit (Clean and Dirty earth pit) because of earth PIT showing short our PLC is not complying spec . please help regarding this issues.
