dirivation rule used for updateing profit centers, beecause
of dirivation rule profit center will be updated.
we difine dirivation rules like this
1. for g.l expenture a/c we will assign profit center in
cost center
2. for revenue a/cs it will update thourgh account assisment
3. for balance sheet items it will update by posting
thourgh business area.

It is created for the BS a/c along with plant condition to post to the correct profit center . However, system only takes the dummy profit center.

The derivation rule is used for derivation of Profit
centers.
This is defined for single/combination of fields of sales
order to derive/substitute the profit center field in sales
order. Example: if sales organization = xxx and Division =
yy then profit center = 100001.
This can be defined in t.code GGB1 and to be assigned to
the respective Controlling area.
