A business area is an organizational unit within accounting
that represents a separate area of operations or
responsibilities in a business organization.
You can set up several business areas to which the system
can assign the postings made in all company codes defined
in this client

Note: Business Area is now a outdated concept, Instead of
Business Area we use Profit Centers.

A Reason out of many reasons of not using Business area is
that the reports framed with the use of Business area do
not get updated automatically...

We define the business area in sap for only internal
purpose, it is not require for externals reports, if
company needs the financial or other reports of all or one
business area then we have to define business area and
assign it to consolitated business area.

Business Area is useful for internal purpose only like our
branches.So with the help of business we can find out the
balances or trasaction is done by perticular area.

business areas are nothing but subsrdary or branches or sub-
division of the company code,the company,company code is an
high level hirarchy of the business area which comes in
this manner

I have a company ABCD. under that i created three company codes using same fiscal year (April- March) and same chart of accounts. Three companies are located in different countries. One of the country located in USA. So i need to draw financial statements in USA for the period Jan- Dec. So anyone can explain how to draw financial statements respective period.

Hi can anybody solve this issue while i'm trying to post an invoice whith USD Doller( my company code currency is INR ) through t-code whether it is f-01,f-02 or f-43, the issue raising " maintain conversion factors for USD/INR (currency type M)".? 1)I've chequed exchanged rate type 'M'is there 2)I Created transaction ratios for currency transction through OBBS T-code. 3)I entered Exchange rates through OB08 INR to USD, INR To EURO. 4) I defined Countries 5? C if one customer has called u up,but the conserned person is out of station,the message is given to you.so the message has to b forwarded to the conserned person when he is back. so u plan 2 keep a MESSAGE ALERT in your system. So how are u going 2 do this in SAP.? Is it done by SAP (FICO) Consultant People. Explain the procedure.
