Negative test cases should highlight what the application or product should not be doing under ideal as well as edge conditions. So examples in this case assuming it is a fountain Pen would be:
1. Verify if the product is not a marker or pencil or highlighter. In other words it should meet the specifications, look and feel, design of a pen.
2. Try to write using the pen after filling it with red ink, the writing should not be in any color other than red(eg: blue/black/green etc)
3.Remove the ink barrel and try writing. The pen should cease to once the residual supply of ink is exhausted.
4.After filling the pen with ink for 3/4 th level of the barrel,Try writing for XX minutes. The pen should not leak ink from the section.
5. Try to draw a vertical and horizontal line with the pen using the help of a ruler, the pen should not tear the paper away.
6. Press the nib of the pen gently against a fresh sheet in a notepad for xx minutes. The pen should not blot the paper till a certain frame of time(xx minutes).and so on.
