Evaporative light scattering detector(ELSD)is used to detect target substances with short elution times.ELSD can detect almost all components that are less volatile than the mobile phase.

Elsd detector mainly used in non uv active compound ,chromosome is not present

ELS Detector is bulk property detector, it is mostly used for molecules, such as sugars, peptides which are UV inactive. Detection based on light scattering by dry analyte, degree of scattering determines concentration with the help of Photomultiplier tubes.
