what is difference between polarity and dipolemoment..

Answer / pratima bhandarkar

The electrons on the most chemical bonds are unequally
shared. The reason of the inequality is that the atoms
forming bond have different ability to attract electrons.

Polarity is a measure of inequality in the sharing of
bonding electrons. The Polarity is a vector, pointing from
the atom with less electronegativity to the atom with
larger one.
The separation of positive and negative charges causes an
electric dipole moment. If the vector sum of Polarities of
a molecule is not zero, the molecule is said having Dipole
Moment.

what is difference between polarity and dipolemoment..

Answer / dr. sp goswami

Dipole moment : Separation of two opposite charges on a
molecule like H+......Y......O- leads to attraction and
repulsion between the bond's ,electrons causing DI-
Pole...moment
While polarity is phenomenal property of polar molecules
who is having dipole moment, electrostatic force ,and its
measure of difference in unequal sharing of electrons and
is a vector

what is difference between polarity and dipolemoment..

Answer / madhav ecologic

A polar molecule is a molecule in which there is some separation of charge in the chemical bonds, so that one part of the molecule has a slight positive charge and the other a slight negative charge. Water is a well-known example of a polar molecule.

Dipole molecules are created when mutual electronic pair at covalent bond is asymmetrical. If different atoms are bonded by a covalent bond, which can have different electron affinity, then the the atom with greater electron affinity will attract the electron pairs more strongly. In this way an asymmetrical distribution of negative charge appears in a molecule, so one part of the molecule becomes relatively negatively (the one closer to the electron pair) and the other becomes relatively positively charged.
