Sometimes it will give the incorrect results, cardinality is only used to know the relationship between the tables,before resolving the loops cardinality detection must..

If we wont apply cardinality, then BO will consider it as a N to N relation by default and give cartesian product which is having wrong results

manual cardinality is always advised !!
