if i want to change the dia of some bar in a structure,then which formula should be used to find the spacing for the bar of new dia?

Suppose, we are using 10 dia reinforcement with 120 c/c spacing in slab.Due to unavailability of 10 dia., we opt 12 dia. reinforcement then:
Area of 10mm dia/spacing = Area of 12 dia/spacing
3.14*10*10/120 = 3.14*12*12/x
therefore, x=172.8,
say, 175mm
hence, provide 12 mm dia r/f in slab @ 175C/C
