How to convert and use 10mm dia steel 150mm spacing instead
of 12mm dia steel which is spacing?

Answer / cd kaushal
Spacing should be such that total area per meter width remains same for 10mm and 12mm bars.
Example:
Total area per meter for 10mm@150c/c = 1000*78.5/150......(i)
if 's' is the spacing for 12mm bars the
total area = 1000*113/s......(ii)
from above :
's' = 113*150/78.5
= 215.92 mm c/c

Answer / suneendra
Specing = ast / Ast
ast = area of bar
Ast = total area of steel
For 10 mm steel
150 = 10*10 / Ast
Ast = 0.666
For 12 mm steel
Specing = 12*12 / 0.666 = 216 mm
Say = 200 mm c/c
