Distribution transformer is a step down transformer located
in towns, villages
Power transformer is a step up transformer located in
generating station only.

The main difference is.. distribution transformers are used for electricity distribution.Means it has a nutral point. And used with low tension.
But,
Power transformers are used in grid, used in high tension supply. Dont have nutral point.
Or you can say.. distribution transformers winding are connected in delta-star.
And power transformers winding are connected in delta-delta.

basicaly we can used distribution X'mer which is DYN1
OR YYN1 what ever but degree 1 we can used for reduce
ferranti effect and also good for power compansation.
similarly DYN11 OR YYN11 anything 11 degree used in
distribution for reduce lagging power factor and also
compansation purpose.
