hello, this is sudipto,from rourkela
partial discharge(PD) is often a dielectric breakdown of
insulating medium, that may be solid(xlpe of power cable) or
liquid(transformer oil) or gasses(air) and this is due to
potential stress. Corona is one type of PD.It may be noted
that PD doesn't bridges the gap between two conducting medium.
