Suppose Area of slab is 100Sq ft = 9.3Sq.m
Suppose Dia 10mm at 125C/C Bothways r/f Provided,
For 1 Sq. m Area No Of Bars = 1/.125+1=9Nos
For boathways = 18Nos
Length Of 1Bar =1m,For 18 nos = 18 m
Now For 9.3Sq. m Area = 18Nos x 18 r.mtr. = 324 R.mtrs.
So Unit Wt of 10mm Dia steel =0.62 Kg/m
So for 324 r. mtrs steel =324*0.62=201.5Kg Steel reqd of 10mm dia.

normal design per square meter of slab we take 15kg of steel
hear thay given 100 sq.ft
1sq.ft = 0.0928sqm
100sq.ft=.0928*100=9.2 sq.m
total steel requried = 9.2*15=138 kgs

I used Etabs software to analyse a high-rise building. And I want to use templated UBC-codes inside to calculate the Seismic load. My question is: whether or not I have to control the seismic load by base shear load which is manual calculation? (just for more clarification: I can control this by input the scale factor into Eartquake definition in Etabs) I would highly appreciate your answer.
