why the conservater tank alwes made upper side of transformer???..

Answer / parag nikumbh

Conservator tank always mounted on top for being reason during Load on transformer Oil expands in volume so excess oil will go to tank and during no load or under-load oil contracts so due to gravity it should fill up the gap in main tank, this is possible only in case if tank is mounted on top or otherwise a means is to be provided to recirculate oil to main tank which is not economical in case of smaller sized transformer.
