how we identify between current transformer and potential transformer without having it name plate..

Answer / savarkarshriram

If connected in circuit it can be easily identified whether
it is connected in series or in parallel. The one which is
connected in series is CT and in parallel is PT. Also it
can also be identified because PT comes with a fuse
arrangement in primary path whereas in CT you wont fuses.

how we identify between current transformer and potential transformer without having it name plate..

Answer / mahaveer.r.d

To measure current in ckt, need to connect CT primary in
series with load. so terminal will be two per phase in/out.
To measure voltage, PT need to connect at across two phases
so no of terminals required at HT side one for each phase
so its essay to identify looking at no of terminals
