Dyn11 distribution transformer, primary side Delta connection is with the reason of alleviating the effect of secondary winding's any of other than similar phase effect in the primary side. with the concept of magneto motive force. Secondary winding star with neutral is required for customers with requirement of single phase with ground........

In Dy11 secondary leads primary by 90 degree means in case of any fault the secondary protection which is sensitive than primary will always senses the fault before and enable to trip. the reason behind is to enable protection not to allow more current to flow through the circuit in the event of fault or abnormality. star point needed for neutral and we use have single phase load are of secondary reason and i think the primary reason may be this which i read from MG say book

We all have seen transmission and Distribution lines In transmission lines the voltage is high and current is low(to reduce I^2r loss) and in distribution lines voltage is low but current is high however the size of transmission wires is bigger than that of distribution wires even though the amount of current carried by the distribution lines is more than that of transmission lines why?
