How to calculate rated currennt Of Mcb for 2hp motor...
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / prdp
simply calculate the line current which 2hp motor will take
by considering the power factor.Again give some margin for
the overloading of motor.
for 3 phase motor, line rated current
= 2*746/(1.73*linevoltage*pf)

motor rated current on the nameplate multiplied by 300%.This will allow the MCB not to trip during starting. However each MCB has its own characteristic depending on its application.see MCB code for it purpose of application.MCB has a code for quick release and time delay trip.
