corona is a phenomena which occurs in over head transmission lines due to ionization of air around the conductor which results in hissing noise and faint blue glow around the conductor

corona is a loss which is occur in transmission line conductor at the rainy season and that the moisture is in atmosphere so the nearer air of conductor gets ionised .
the charge is flow in minimum amount to the air.The hissing sound is create and around the conductor the air is get colour (voilet) change..
