how to calculate steel quantity in plinth beam&footing..

Answer / maruthu

whatever it is you see the drawing . say for example
footing 1.2m* 1.2m. 12mm rod 200mm c/c. basic formula
D^2/162 PER 1m length 12^2/162=0.888,size of rod 40' or
12.2m. so 0.888*12.2= 10.83kg per12mm rod.
1.2/.2=6+1=7rods.size 1.2-cover 2sides . 1.2-2[.04]=1.12.
1.12*7=7.84*2=15.68m b'coz 2sides mat.
15.68*.888=13.92kg requirement for 1.2*1.2m footing.
