whatever it is you see the drawing . say for example
footing 1.2m* 1.2m. 12mm rod 200mm c/c. basic formula
D^2/162 PER 1m length 12^2/162=0.888,size of rod 40' or
12.2m. so 0.888*12.2= 10.83kg per12mm rod.
1.2/.2=6+1=7rods.size 1.2-cover 2sides . 1.2-2[.04]=1.12.
1.12*7=7.84*2=15.68m b'coz 2sides mat.
15.68*.888=13.92kg requirement for 1.2*1.2m footing.

if we know load bearing capacity of the soil and building load falling in each footing, then how to choose the type of foundation??? and if it is shallow foundation then which type of shallow foundation should be choosen i.e either strip or isolated or raft or combined or cantilever footing???????
