On a 10 KVA UPS we have to provide a DC MCB for Battery bank
of 16 nos (12 V 65 AH).
What Shall be the current rating of DC MCB ?

Battery banks are always connected in series so the total
voltage of the battery bank will be
12*16=192V
10KVA=10000VA
A=10000/192=52 Amps
But we need to consider the safety margin of atleast 125%
on the MCB rating and also there are only standard current
ratings are only available in the market so by considering
all these reason we can go for a 65Amps DC MCB.

UPS is 10 KVA, and battery is 65AH
Hence if it is a 1 phase UPS
KVA = V*A
10000 = 240*A
A= 10000/240
A = 42 A full load
Approximately a 63 A MCB would be required

Ans:- 60Amps MCB
how:-
for 16 battery net voltage is 192Vdc.
For battery low cut OFF voltage fixed in by all kind of ups is 10.5 each battery . so for 16 battery System battery low cut of votage is 168VDC
( :- at time low battery voltage only Dc current consumption is high, we need to take maximum current consumtion for select MCB)
total load we taken= 1oKVA Full load.
DC voltage at time low battery = 168
current consume (at time of low batter)= 10000KVA /168Vdc
current consumption is 60Amps arround
so 60Amps MCB is required
