Hi Generally Per Cum. of concrete 75kg-110kg steel is
required... if you are asking for residential it may require
75 kg per CUM... if you are asking for commercial building
it may reach up-to 110kg per CUM... multiply it by thickness
of slab...

how can be possible that 1 sq mtr slab area required 25 to 30 kg steel
in simple term residential building in slab having a thickness
110 to 125 mm provided Reinforcement generally #8@150 c/c for
distributer bar & #8@200 c/c spacing then calculation says that 5.530+1.825 => 7.355 Kg Per Sq mtr in slab
i also consider this figure may variously According to structure type

As per thumb rule steel requirement per sqft for residential
buildings is 4-4.5Kg/Sqft. So just convert it into sqm. It
will around 40-48Kg/Sqm.

It depends upon the load on that area acting....if the load
is more than more steel will required....and if load is less
than less steel...
