plc trouble shootings?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / raj anu raj
Every manufacturer issues catalogs, O&M manuals with their
products or download them from their respective site. Just
go through them. They will clearly explain you the error
codes which are visible(flashing leds) in the PLC. From
them trouble shooting will be easy.

It doesn't matter which brand of PLC you are hanldling
with. You should know the basics of electrical circuits and
able to read circuit drawings perfectly. PLC perform the
programme what we write for a specific objective. If it
ackowledges the inputs signals ( Sensors,switches etc)it
will automatically give o.k for output( motors and
temp.controllers etc.).So first check the input & output
signals in the plc for the broke down circuit. If it is
o.k.then proble should be in the hard wire line. May be the
wire groundeded or the defective component.

The programmable logic controller (PLC) is changing to
reflect the demands of sequencing and continuous processing
applications. The PLC can be thought of as a hardened
computer with high speed I/O and communications ports with
bus interfacing for multiprocessor or coprocessor
enhancements, and a BIOS that supports those features. PLC
manufacturers now retain control over both aspects of the
PLC which interoperate in a proprietary manner. Via the
delineation of the two may come a standard real time
operating system or real time kernel which would give rise
to true applications portability.

typical loop drawing of a simple feedback control comprising of one transmitter and one control
How can we say that accuracy of measurement increases by using 3 or 4 wire RTD? because for example: If resistance of RTD element is say r ohms and Resistance of the cable from transmitter to RTD is R ohms And if 4 wire RTD is used, ____._____________________ R ohms | |_____._____________________ R ohms / \ / r ohms \ \ | |______.__________________ R Ohms | |_______._________________ R ohms Then the actual resistance measured will be: Total = r + R/2 + R/2 = r +R Ohms Note: r+R instead of r ohms. hence error
why we are using pnp npn for sensors is there any other type?
