How can we calculate the rating of a transformer suppose if load is 1000KW?Formula?..

Answer / proshant

We can dtermine the rating of transformer by multiplying the
power that given inreal power with the power facor. If
thepower factor is not given, then we can imagine it as 0.85

How can we calculate the rating of a transformer suppose if load is 1000KW?Formula?..

Answer / k.prakashchandra

The pf is not to go below 0.85 and loading factor can be
taken as 0.9 or as low as 0.7 in anticipation of future
load.Then 1000/ 0.85 x o.9 or 0.7 i.e. 1300 KVA or 1700
KVA is the required rating.
