Use a smart communicator device such as HART
calibrator/communicator. Connect it across +/- terminals,
whether in the instrument, junction box, marshalling, or
system cabinet, then initiate communication with the smart
transmitter. If you calibrate on-line, the HART communicator
will ask you to put device in manual, and advise control
room that you are calibrating the HART transmitter. Using
the HART communicator use loop/calibrate function and
simulate, 4,12,20 mA corresponding to 0%,50%, 100% of level
or pressure.

You wish to SINK all my digital inputs to a PLC digital input card. Would you common out the leads to a positive or a negative connection?
