Bolts are observer on the cover. these bolts are used to
hold poles. where as AC motors have smooth surface.

Presence of commutator at one of the end is s second
difference.

larger than AC machine
2.DC machine is identified by commutator
3.DC motors contains brush arrangement which sq.cage motor
is not having .

1.All DC machines are can be identified with commutator.

2.By seeing the cooling arrangement. since MOST of the DC
machines are provided with air blower for cooling. in case
of the AC machine end fan is provided.
