What will be the size of cable required for 5.5 KW motor (
Full load current 10 Amps approx.), Starting current with
DOL is 120 Amps. Aprrox. Short circuit current with LLLG
fault is 2000 Amps Approx.

6 sq mm copper cable and 10 sq mm if the usage is
non-stop.cables can withstand heavy currents for short periods.

4 sq. mm is sufficient. In our plant we are using 2.5 sq. mm for 5.5 KW and 4 sq. mm for 11 KW.
