Answer / siva

Short cct here means short ccting the secondary. at that
time, transforemr will deliver it's short cct capacity of
current, normally 1/Z in p.u. terms. if the resistance
increase the current in secondary will reduce but the
effect of resistance is negligible considering the
secondary winding inductance!

Answer / vamsi

when the primary of t/f is open then it induses some flux, lly
when secondary is also open then both the fluxes combines ,it
generates heat ,so it tends to many losses.so if secondary is
shorted then secondary prevents from entering ,it just stops
it so more flux is not generated, which will protect it from
losses,performance is also increased.
