1)why the transformer rating in KVA insted of KW
2)why the secondary of ct is shorted and why the PT
secondary is open

Answer / vinod
1) The Efficiency of the transformer depends on copper
loss and core loss, prepotional to the voltage & square
ampere.also power factor is depend on load. thats why
transformer is rated in KVA.
2) CT secondary is either connected with relay/ICT or it
will be shorted as it is working as step up voltage
(dangerously high) principle, cause human/equipment damage
PT is using as a voltage measurement and
protection, winding must be open or connected with load of
rated burden.

when open circuit test of transformer we will got the iron
loss it will depends upon voltage and during short circuit
test we will got the copper loss it will depend upon
current there fore total loss in VA so we use large
capacity of transormer hencetransformer capacityis in KVA.
2)if ct secondary is open heavy emf will produced so
sarrounding equepement will burntout and CT willalso burnt
or saturated.

Let's say I have 2 current carrying conductors C1 and C2 carrying currents of 5A and 10A. They are brought close to each other from a distance of infinity to a distance of 10cm away from each other - 1. What would be the values of current flowing in each conductor when (taking into account effects of interference of each conductor on the other) - a. The currents are AC b. The currents are DC c. C1 is AC and C2 is DC Please explain your answer with mathematical equations and formulas. Please specify the final numeric answer. Please make assumptions and clearly specify them.
