As the alternating voltage on a line conductor system is
raised beyond a certain limit, a point is reached when a
faint violet glow appers on the conductor surface,with
hissing noise and a smell of ozone.this phenomenon is
colled corona

It is found in above 11 KV voltage transmission &
distribution line

In apearance it is faint circular glow having violet in
colour producing hissing noise.
