why the emf of a cell more than the terminal voltage when the
cell is delivering current?

Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback

why the emf of a cell more than the terminal voltage when the cell is delivering current?..

Answer / satish

The EMF is the elcromotive force independent of current
flow but when the current stats flowing in the circuit then
there i some voltage drop due to the internal
resistense.So,The net potential difference will be V=E-IR
where V is the voltage,
E is Electromotive Force,
R is internal resistance.

Answer / abhishek-gaur

V=E-ir
there is som potential drop in internal resistnc of clll...
so terminal voltg is bit less
