why the emf of a cell more than the terminal voltage when the
cell is delivering current?

Answer Posted / johnston

The EMF is the elcromotive force independent of current
flow but when the current stats flowing in the circuit then
there i some voltage drop due to the internal
resistense. So,The net potential difference will be V=E-IR
where V is the voltage,
E is Electromotive Force,
R is internal resistance.
