Earthing mins it is connected to dead parts like enclosure, machine body, base frame, etc. it does not carries current in under normal condition. used as a current path for fault condition, so it become safety for eqnt and human being.
Grounding is connected to live part. it gives return path for machine to power source. it carries current in normal condition. for example grounded star connected power transformer and star connected motor neutral.
