why do we prefer a 3-phase delta connected load rather than
star connected?

In star speed of motor is very low with low amp.
and in delta motor running with its normal rated speed with
rated amp.
So generally for motor starting purpose star used and

Answer / nithi
for a same power rating the current in delta connected load
is 1.732 times lesser than the star connected load (heat
loss is less) &also if one phase get opened the other two
phases will serve the load i.e.good stability.but in safety
point of view, star connected load is better than delta
load.because earthing can be done without the help of
earthing transformer.
